About

We are on a mission to make healthcare better.

What We do

Since our beginning in 1979, HSAG has been committed to improving the quality of healthcare services in order to achieve the best possible patient outcomes.

We provide healthcare quality expertise to those who deliver care and those who receive care, and tools and resources for patients, families, and caregivers to be advocates for their own health.

Quality Innovation Network-Quality Improvement Organization (QIN-QIO) for Medicare

For more than 40 years, HSAG has worked to improve the quality of healthcare services for Medicare patients to achieve the best possible patient outcomes through our work as part of the Quality Improvement Organization (QIO) Program. The QIO Program is a national healthcare initiative whose primary focus is to improve the healthcare that Medicare patients receive.

External Quality Review Organization (EQRO) for Medicaid

HSAG is the largest EQRO in the nation and provides quality review services for states that operate Medicaid managed care programs and fee-for-service programs. Our services affect 44 million Medicaid recipients, approximately 49 percent of the nation’s Medicaid population.

End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) Network Contractor

HSAG has worked for over two decades on improving the health and quality of life of individuals with kidney disease. We work with dialysis facilities, organ procurement organizations, transplant hospitals, federal and state associations, and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to improve the care rendered to individuals with kidney disease. We also work directly with individuals with kidney disease and their families and caregivers to provide education, assist in their navigation of the healthcare system, and receive feedback from them to improve the work that HSAG conducts.

Our Values

HSAG is committed to a level of quality that drives improvement in our nation’s healthcare services.

We embody quality in all we do: in the services we provide, the knowledge we share, and the relationships we build with providers, patients, families, and caregivers.
