FDA Approves New Continuous Glucose Monitor for Diabetes

People with diabetes now have access to a blood sugar monitoring tool without a finger stick, as the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced. The FreeStyle Libre Flash Glucose Monitoring System includes a sensor wire that is placed below the skin’s surface to continuously monitor blood sugar levels. It comes with a mobile reader sitting atop the senor wire, so patients can gauge their glucose. The device has a 10-day use period. Read more at the U.S. News & World Report article.
