Critical Access Hospitals (CAHs)

Medical Team Nurse Talking with Senior Patient

CAHs may voluntarily submit measure data to the Hospital Inpatient Quality Reporting (IQR) and Outpatient Quality Reporting (OQR) programs, but participation is not required in either program. CAHs participating in the Medicare Rural Hospital Flexibility Program (Flex Program) can submit quality measure data as part of their participation in the Medicare Beneficiary Quality Improvement Program (MBQIP) that focuses on patient safety, care transitions, and patient engagement.
