CMS Publishes HSAG-Prepared 2021 National Impact Assessment of CMS Quality Measures Report
Monday, June 14, 2021The report includes information collected on 686 measures used across 26 CMS programs. Results suggest that the use of quality measures likely contributed to improved healthcare quality and reduced costs in key healthcare quality priorities. Opportunities to reduce disparities and support health equity, improve declining performance on measures, and enhance EHR interoperability are also identified.

CDC Publishes Report on Excess ESRD Deaths During COVID Pandemic
Tuesday, June 8, 2021HSAG, the ESRD NCC contractor, and CMS recently published a CDC Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report on excess deaths among patients with ESRD that found as many as 10,316 more deaths than expected among nearly 800,000 ESRD patients during the early months of the COVID-19 pandemic. Patients with ESRD are at a high risk for illness and death from COVID-19.
