Leadership plays a vital role in building and sustaining a culture of quality in nursing homes. This session will provide a practical overview of Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI), including what it is, why it matters, and how leadership can take an active role in driving meaningful change. Participants will learn how to integrate QAPI principles into staff training, use data to identify and address gaps, and support performance improvement efforts across the facility. The session will also highlight how to leverage HSAG’s QAPI tools, including the Performance Improvement Project (PIP) Playbook, to implement targeted interventions and improve resident outcomes. Attendees will leave with practical strategies to strengthen their facility’s QAPI program, engage frontline staff, and drive measurable improvements in resident care.
Objectives
After attending the webinar, the attendee will be able to:
- Explain key elements of an effective QAPI program and recognize common gaps that limit its impact.
- Examine the role of leadership in QAPI efforts and how they can drive quality improvement.
